CHASTEBERRY (VITEX) TINCTURE
Chasteberry Tincture (also called Chinese vitex, vitex Agnus-castus and hemp tree), is an herbal tincture made from the fruit and seed of the chaste tree. Taking chasteberry tincture may help women suffering from various conditions because it may affect hormone levels in the body.
Chasteberry is an herb used for the treatment of menstrual problems. Women have used chasteberry for thousands of years to help reduce the symptoms of menstrual problems and to stimulate the production of breast milk. Extracts from the fruit of the Vitex agnus-castus shrub appear to regulate a hormone released by the pituitary gland, helping to ease pain associated with a woman’s menstrual cycle.
Chasteberry Tincture may offer relief for women suffering from Endometriosis and Uterine Fibroids. The benefits of chasteberry for treating the symptoms of these conditions are anecdotal and include easing uterine pain and reducing swelling. In treating fibroids it reduces uterine inflammation and changes the hormonal messages sent to fibroids, easing pain quickly and helping shrink the fibroid.
Some women may find relief from some PMS symptoms after taking chasteberry tincture. Common symptoms of PMS include breast tenderness, acne, mood swings, gastrointestinal distress and appetite changes.
Chasteberry is sometimes recommended by practitioners of alternative medicine to bring about a return of your period -- which requires ovulation -- when you're lactating. Some alternative health practitioners also recommend it for women with fertility problems, the notion being that it will help induce ovulation in women with irregular cycles.
The effects of chasteberry are cumulative and it may take up to six months of taking the tincture regularly to see positive results.
Suggested dosage: 30-60 drops of Chaste berry tincture, taken 2–4 times a day. Chasteberry tincture works best when taken for a long time.
Ingredients: Chasteberries (Vitex), Grain Alcohol, Distilled Water
