Bentonite Clay, Sodium Bentonite ~Multiple Sizes

Bentonite Clay

One of our edible clays from naturally occurring volcanic ash sediments here in the US. Traditionally used as an internal supplement to assist in mineral deficiencies, and to help bind toxins making them more soluble. Because of its naturally soft nature it also makes an invigorating skin and facemask. Suitable for food use.

Bentonite, also referred to as Montmorillonite, is one of the most effective and powerful healing clays used to treat both internal and external maladies. Bentonite can be used externally as a clay poultice, mud pack or in the bath and, in skin care recipes. Internally it can be added to water or glazed upon food to help those with sensitive palates.

Bentonite clay is sedimentary clay composed of weathered and aged volcanic ash. The largest and most active deposits come from Wyoming and Montana.

This Bentonite clay is quarry mined from naturally occurring deposits and is untreated.

There are two kinds of bentonite clay: swelling bentonite, also known as sodium or Western bentonite, and non swelling bentonite, known as calcium or southern bentonite. The variety here is a "Sodium Bentonite".

How to Dissolve Bentonite Clay?

Add 1.5 cups of water to container.

Add 1 tbsp. bentonite to water.

Place cap on container and shake vigorously to dissolve bentonite.

Reduce the amount of water significantly if using bentonite for a facial mask, as a paste consistency is required.
